Dear Subscriber,
The construction of the California Pacific Medical Center hospital at Van Ness Avenue and Geary Boulevard will require lane and road closures of Van Ness this month.Below are the details to help you make travel plans. Please note that while there will be detours for private automobiles, transit (Muni and Golden Gate) will not be re-routed.Thank you,

Sutter CPMC Van Ness and Geary Campus Tunnel Construction: Van Ness Avenue detour Post Street to Ellis Street
  •  Friday, April 10, 12 a.m. — Sunday, April 12, 11:59 p.m.
  •  Friday, April 24, 12 a.m. — Sunday, April 26, 11:59 p.m.



Due to construction activity, Van Ness Avenue from Post Street to Ellis Street will be closed to vehicle traffic the second and fourth weekends of April. The roadway will be closed starting at 12 a.m. on Friday, April 10, and will reopen at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 12. The roadway will be closed a second time starting at 12 a.m. on Friday, April 24, and will reopen at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 26.Additionally, Van Ness Avenue will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane the nights of Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.Van Ness Avenue will be closed from Post Street to Ellis Street for the construction of a subterranean tunnel at the Sutter CPMC Van Ness and Geary campus.Due to the construction activity, Muni's 47 Van Ness and 49 Van Ness-Mission routes may experience delays. Van Ness Avenue will remain open to Muni, Golden Gate Transit, paratransit and first responders, as well as people walking. Alternative routes are in place for other motorists and multiple detours will be staffed with traffic officers at intersections.More information on the project is available at www.cpmc2020.org.|

 TRAFFIC SFPD and PCO officers will be present to manage traffic.
