This is a reminder that beginning July 1, 2017, Muni fare increases will go into effect across the board with only Cable Car and multiple-day Passport fares remaining the same. Paratransit fares will increase as well.[font]Fare change details below: [/font][font]The [/font][font]July1 fare change is part of the SFMTA Board of Director’s mandated automatic fare indexing policy, which allows us to adjust Muni fares to keep up with inflation and labor costs. All fare changes can be found on our Fares and Passes webpage.[/font][font]These fare changes are aimed to provide better Muni service for more people. In the last couple of years, we’ve added new buses, reduced the Muni travel times and improved its on-time performance, which have led to an overall service improvement by 10 percent. It is the most significant service increase since the 1970s. We’re also investing $21 million over this current fiscal year alone to provide discount fares and free passes to low-income seniors, youth and people with disabilities.
