On Wednesday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m., the Branch is hosting:

Pete Seeger: How Can I Keep From Singing

In this one-man performance, Tim Holt will portray Pete Seeger, who will tell his life story and sing songs from the various chapters in his life.  In this presentation, Pete talks about growing up in a musical family, his travels around the country with Woody Guthrie, singing with the Almanacs and the Weavers, and his involvement in causes that include the labor movement, the civil rights movement, and cleaning up the Hudson River near his home.
And of course Pete will encourage audience members to join with him on songs that include "If I Had A Hammer," "We Shall Overcome," and "This Land."
Tim Holt has been performing music programs in Bay Area libraries for a number of years. His interest in Pete Seeger and folk music dates back to the Folk Revival of the 1960s, when he learned to play the banjo one summer using Pete Seeger's "How To Play The Five-String Banjo" instruction manual.

Hope you can attend and sing along!
